How Che Metcalfe, trading as Guitarso, uses the information you share to arrange and provide guitar lessons.
Accounts and lesson requests
Clerk handles sign-in, verification and account security. Guitarso stores lesson requests in a Neon PostgreSQL database, linked to the adult’s Clerk account ID. A request includes the lesson time, adult contact, student’s preferred name and age group where relevant, declared guardian relationship, intended payer and accepted policy version. We use these details to review requests and arrange lessons. Submitting a request does not take a payment or confirm an appointment.
Student profiles
You may save a preferred name, age group, playing hand, guitar type, experience, music goals and practical learning preferences. These are private to the adult account that created them and used to support lesson planning. They are not stored in Clerk metadata or sent to Stripe or Cal.com. Please do not enter diagnoses, medical history or dates of birth. You can edit or remove a profile in Student profiles; doing so does not withdraw a lesson request.
Enquiries and email
The enquiry form sends your name, email, topic and message to Guitarso through Postmark when delivery is configured. We use those details to answer you, not to subscribe you to marketing. If delivery is unavailable, the form provides our email address. Message content is not stored in the website database; short-lived abuse counters help protect the form. Postmark and Google Workspace process correspondence.
Service providers
Vercel hosts the website. Clerk provides authentication and Neon stores application records. Cal.com supplies calendar availability; submitting a pending request does not create a Cal.com appointment. No card information is collected in this request flow. These providers may process information outside Australia under their own privacy and security arrangements.
Cookies, website logs and video
Account services use cookies needed for sign-in and security. The hosting provider may process technical request logs. We do not use advertising trackers or send the website’s anonymous interaction events to an analytics vendor. Performance videos only load after you choose to load them; YouTube uses its privacy-enhanced player and does not autoplay.
Children’s information
A parent or legal guardian manages a child’s profile and lesson requests. The child does not need an account or email address. Please leave children’s full names and sensitive information out of initial enquiries.
Access, correction and removal
Contact hello@guitarso.com to ask about information held about you, request correction or removal, or raise a privacy concern. We may verify your identity before providing access. We keep information for lesson administration and any applicable record-keeping obligations, and review removal requests accordingly. Deleting your Clerk account does not automatically delete lesson records or withdraw requests; please contact Che to arrange this.
